Pre Holiday Checklist

Document & Papers

• Confirm Flight Reservation
• Collect Tickets
• 3 months before you go, get up to date vaccinations for your destination
• 8 weeks before you go make sure passports are up to date and any visas are acquired
• Driving License
• Credit Card (monitor overseas transaction charges)
• Travellers' Cheques
• Currency
• Organise Travel Insurance
• Form E111 (for travel in the EU)
• For security, write only your outbound destination on your luggage labels
• Check with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for last minute travel/safety advice
• Photocopy key documents - pack some separately and also give copies to family/friends

Home

• Cancel your milk & newspaper deliveries
• Arrange cattery/kennels, or organise care for your pets while away
• Leave spare keys and your contact number with someone you trust
• Tell a neighbour that you will be away
• Ask someone to water your plants
• Throw away any fresh food
• If your car is alarmed then leave spare keys with a neighbour
• Lock windows and doors
• Set timers to make your house appear occupied
• Unplug electrical appliances, except freezer

Hand Luggage

• Luggage
• Camera
• Mobile Phone (remember to turn this off when flying)
• Medication
• Glasses or contact lenses
• Small amount of cash for arrival
• Spare clothing/underwear in case your luggage is lost.
• CD, Mini disc, or MP3 player with spare batteries
• Moisturiser
• Bottle of water
• Sweets to stop your ears form popping
• Support socks or leg exerciser for longer flights

• Phrase /Guide Book(s)
• Travel plugs and adaptors
